EDITORIAL Welcome to the fifth issue of Backbeat, Yamahas dedicated publication for Yamaha Drums and Artists in the UK, in this new e-zine format. Why have we changed the format? Well, we want to be able to communicate with you more than once a year and communicate with a wider spread of people. Whilst being a traditionalist at heart, technology allows me to now include features that would have previously been impossible in the old paper format. For example, in this issue we took Ian Thomas and a brand new Oak Custom drum kit into the studio to record some sounds and grooves, which you can easily download. Weve also added an Oak Custom Image for anyone who wants to spice up their desktop. But dont worry, we havent changed everything. We still have some great interviews, tips and advice from Yamaha artists for you, as well as all the up to date news. In this issue we catch up with Stuart Cable from Stereophonics and Chuck Sabo, as well as introducing you to a new drummer on the scene called Nick Millard from a band called Crackout. So we hope you enjoy it. To ensure you automatically receive each new edition of Backbeat as it is released, please register by following this link.
